Lots of updates

Been busy working on Secret projects. Not for myself, other folks. Got to take my first stab at animation for a comedy show my friend here in L.A. is pitching to some folks. It’s nothing really super impressive by any means, but personally, for someone who has never done any animating before to suddenly be asked to do two ten second pieces was a bit horrifying, but it ended up being the most fun I’ve ever had making art, and I’m now considering taking on a daunting task of making a 5 minute short of something I’ll be writing myself. NO idea when any of that will be done as my husbandly/fatherly duties and day job and any paying projects take precedence over the funner self gratifying stuff. Also, I was asked and agreed to play bass in a band out here, so definitely looking forward to that as well.

Good times,

P.S. I bought an iPad Pro, and it’s awesome. Finally just uninstalled my Monoprice 19″ Interactive Pen Display from my desk. iPad Pro + Astropad + iMac = radness.

Finally making some headway.

Between bouncing between prototypes of this here blog and one I’ve setup at scottstpierre.wordpress.org and also designing a custom site using Adobe Muse, I’ve found a theme called “Panels.” My lofty plans have really been scaled down with an aim to focus on the actual production of art. Whether it’s The Pits strip, or any other creative stuff. Web design is a discipline I’m not going to pretend I have a complete handle on just yet. This theme isn’t dreadful and it’s dead easy to update. The hard part should be creating the work, not sharing it. Glad I realized that. Having fun again.

Finally having a go at this thing called life.

For far too many years I’ve been tweaking, or revamping, or rebooting scottstpierre.com to fit whatever special project or crazy dream career I had been chasing that year or month or minute. I’m done with that. Web design, at least design focused on me, makes me nuts. I’m going to focus on making actual art, and stories, and music, and hopefully things that incorporate all three. I’ll work on doing my best in those areas. Also the occasional product review. I’d like to being my 10-minute movie review back to life at some point too. Anyway, to new beginnings…

Cheers,

– Scott
